Dr. Denguhlanga is a distinguished technologist, educator, and community strategist whose career is defined by a singular mission: using technology as a tool for liberation, education, and economic sovereignty. From mastering programming at the age of nine to her current role as Executive Director of Homage To Black Excellence (H2BE), she has spent decades ensuring that cutting-edge tools remain accessible to those traditionally left out of the digital revolution.


The Early Architect of Accessibility

Dr. Denguhlanga’s technical journey began with an early mastery of IBM systems, where as a student, she taught a cohort of 120 peers the complexities of programming. Her foundational years were spent in deep research, scouring national publications to distill complex software design into user-friendly fundamentals. This commitment to Human-Centered Design became her hallmark, leading her to serve as a Teacher’s Assistant throughout high school, specializing in graphic design, web development, and data management.

At the university level, Dr. Denguhlanga served as a bridge between complex information systems and advanced research. At Wayne State University, she trained over 50 MBA and Ph.D. candidates in digital research and citation, while simultaneously managing brand marketing for the library system and ensuring pedagogical materials met modern accessibility standards.

Her strategic prowess landed her roles as Regional Field Director for national organizations and as a lead consultant for Artspace Projects Inc., where she spent a decade building technology to activate safe spaces for artists and seniors.

A Career of Distinction

A prolific author of five books and a sought-after speaker for the American Library Association, Dr. Denguhlanga’s work has been recognized by the New York Times for its investment in creativity and the greater good.

She holds an MBA in Leadership Studies and Marketing and a Doctorate of Divinity in Spiritual Counseling. The excellence of her professional trajectory and her contributions to the digital landscape have led to introductions and professional engagements with world-class leaders, including Ken Chenault, Ambassador Andrew Young, Rev. Horace Sheffield II, and multiple mayors of Detroit and Dearborn.
