Empowering families to care for elders with love, knowledge, and spiritual covering — one relationship at a time.
A Ministry of Listening, Learning & Loving
Many adults ages 25 to 55 are stepping into caregiving without preparation. At the same time, many elders have never been caregivers themselves — but they know deeply how they want to be treated as they age.
Bridging Generations is a ministry where wisdom is exchanged, dignity is restored, and care becomes mutual.
We are healing the caregiving gap by building intergenerational circles of love, training, and trust.
Our Mission
To raise up a new generation of caregivers by:
Creating safe spaces for elders to speak their needs, expectations, and truth
Inviting young adults to learn with humility, curiosity, and compassion
Honoring both perspectives as vital to building a new culture of caregiving
Supporting churches in launching caregiving ministries rooted in faith and family restoration
Program Offerings
Listening Sessions with Elders
Elders share their stories, fears, preferences, and joys shaping how they wish to be loved, honored, and cared for. These sessions center the sacred voice of our elders as the guiding truth for how we rebuild caregiving in our families and faith communities.
Innovator Caregiver Discovery Circles (Ages 25–55)
Beginner-friendly spaces for new and soon-to-be caregivers. Here, led by our Lead Innovators, young adults learn to ask the right questions, listen deeply, and gain confidence through guided mentorship, prayer, and real-life scenarios.
The Way I Want to Be Cared For" Journals
Elders create a personal digital guidebook documenting their preferences, boundaries, spiritual needs, and sacred routines. These journals become a living legacy and a practical roadmap for family members, churches, and caregivers.
Mutual Mentorship Workshops + Tech Training
Elders and young adults come together in structured sessions to learn from each other, exchange wisdom, build trust and grow in grace.
These workshops include:
Conversations on respect, aging, and family care
We also offer easy tech support, such as:
How to make video calls to stay connected with loved ones
How to set medication reminders using a phone or tablet
Simple tools to help caregivers stay organized, encouraged, and spiritually grounded. When caregivers are organized, encouraged, and spiritually grounded, they feel less overwhelmed, are more likely to avoid burnout, and respond to daily challenges with greater peace and patience. This creates a more loving and stable environment for both the elder they care for and themselves.
You don’t need to be “tech-savvy” — we walk through each step with love and patience. Everyone learns together.
Care, Culture & Cuisine Nights
An evening of unity, nourishment, and celebration.
Generations come together to:
Prepare meals using fresh produce gathered from Detroit’s Urban Farms, Community Gardens, and Farmers Market stands
Share family recipes, cultural stories, and ancestral food traditions
Reflect on how food, faith, and fellowship strengthen our ability to care and be cared for
