H2BE Detroit — Community & Volunteer Network

A faith-centered, literacy-driven volunteer network building community wealth, food sovereignty, and creative empowerment across Detroit and Dearborn.

Who We Are

H2BE Detroit is an independently recognized Community and Volunteer Group with its own federal EIN designation.
Rooted in the spirit and framework of Homage to Black Excellence (H2BE), it operates as a companion organization that expands H2BE’s mission through service, training, and civic action.

Through literacy arts, digital media, and intergenerational collaboration, H2BE Detroit strengthens neighborhoods by nurturing leadership, amplifying stories, and activating faith-based community service. Its foundation rests on the belief that restoration begins when communities unite through creativity, education, and purpose.

Mission in Motion

H2BE Detroit turns faith and wisdom into measurable community action.
Through hands-on service and education, volunteers build pathways to food security, digital literacy, and artistic expression.
Every project—whether a storytelling workshop, technology circle, or market pop-up—connects residents to opportunity, healing, and self-determination.

The mission lives through literacy, economic empowerment, and cultural remembrance, carried forward by residents who believe transformation is both divine and attainable.
